The Gay Mother in Spring

At 88, the Gay Mother tried something entirely new with spring greens. They were tossed with lovage, sorrel and spinach, all self-plucked from her garden. On the other hand, she revived a Robert Carrier lamb bake with a cheesy crust. Rather good if you pre-cook the tomatoes with a bay leaf rather than dump them in straight from the tin.

She leapt three feet from her chair when struck that Madmen was about to begin on Sky Atlantic. Loves Peggy, Joan: extraordinary shape, dislikes Don Draper’s first wife, doesn’t mention Don Draper himself. Later took a Miss Marple: doesn’t like Geraldine McEwen as.
